Kevin, here are a few resources for you.  The first is
an EXTENSIVE bibliography of Costa Rican archaeology
by long-time list member John Hoopes (a must-have
resource for those interested in the archaeology of
Costa Rica).  The others are academic papers on the
transition from Jade to Gold in the Costa Rican
archaeological record (including one by another Aztlan
list member, David Mora-Marin):
