I believe you are referring to the books by Joyce Kelly (not Judy Kelly). She was a good friend of mine, and a regular contributor to this listserv up until her passing a few years ago. She wrote some of the best travel guides for archaeological tourism in Mesoamerica. Her works are still available on Amazon.com.

Just remember that some of the archaeological sites she mentions in her books have received more attention since the publication date. For instance, when she wrote about Ek Balam the massive structure called "La Torre" had not been excavated, revealing the amazing stucco work, etc. So I would advise you to do a bit of "googling" about the sites you want to visit to augment her work.
However, her background research far surpasses that done by standard tour books. She knew and interacted with many of the archaeologists and villagers who worked throughout the region, and spent years in the Latin American Library and the Middle American Research Institute at Tulane University to conduct her research. I never go to the field without her volumes.
