We invite you to participate in a silent auction to benefit an exhibition entitled Woven Threads Through Time: Maya Women, Weavers, and Their Stories. The exhibit is slated to open in April 2009 at the Weedon Island Preserve in St. Petersburg, Florida, and will highlight the weavings and stories of prehispanic and contemporary Maya women. Their stories will also be featured on our website, as will video clips and an extensive collection of photographs.
The auction opens on Sunday, November 30th and will close at noon (EST) on Monday, December 8th. To see what’s available, visit www.buetes.net.

Other ways to help:

· By becoming a member of the Woven Threads Weaving Circle

· With a personal or business sponsorship

· By donating an item to the auction

All donations are made to a 501(c)(3) organization and are fully tax deductible. For more information, please see our website or contact the exhibit curator, Gabrielle Vail, at MayaWeaving at gmail.com. For every bid placed during the auction, a five dollar donation will be contributed to a fund established to provide scholarships for Guatemalan children to attend school.
