Listeros,
Several stone sculptures and a pyramid were found in the valley of
Tulancingo in central Mexico 15 years ago along with 41 other
artifacts. Many are sitting figures and some have conical hats with
snakes at the base which appear to be Quetzalcoatl like. They are
painted blue or green. They date to 600-900 CE. They appear to be of
an unknown culture now called "Huajomulco." Some of the artifacts were
found near the Huapalcalco pyramid in Hidalgo. The pottery, grey and
reddish-brown does not fit other cultures. This site grew after the
fall of Teotihuacan. There is renewed speculation about these
artifacts and pyramid.
National Geographic has the story here with one picture of the pyramid
but unfortunately no pictures of the artifacts;
