[Aztlan] xalitla

Thanks to everyone who has taken the time to respond to my inquiry.

The only reference that I have been able
to find is:

"Little People of the World, Ceramic Figures from Ancient
America" Denver Art Museum, 1990, page 17:

"Other nearby sites have yielded ceramic figures related to those
found at Xochipala. At Xalitla, Guerrero, for instance, several
hundred small figures reportedly turned up in a single meter of earth
displaced while digging a well. Their profusion of attitudes and
clothing styles suggests interacting groups that might represent an
entire village. Batlike staffs, wrappings around arms and legs,
or large rings and pads on hands and knees may represent ball-game
regalia. Thermoluminescence tests have verfied dates of about
1000 B.C. for the Xalitla figures."

The above book shows photos of two Xalitla figures marked as 14b-d on
page 30.

I have spoken with dealers who have these figures and they repeat the
above information as reference and expand the date to "as early
as" 1500 B.C.E.

I own two of these figures.

After a long search and many inquiries I have been unable to find any
further reference in literature.

Best,
Jim
