Below is a message that I received from Bruce Rogers. One of the
suggestions that he makes is that it might be helpful if others on
this list see the responses that I receive - thus creating synergy and
I think that he is correct. Therefore I would ask that any responses
to my questions go through the Azlan listserv so that others can see
them too.

Eliane,
I'd encourage you to post what you get for suggestions and comments
about this - after all, Aztlan was concocted up to encourage the
exchange of ideas. One never knows where an off-hand comment might
lead . . .
A far as "a dark heart crystallized stone" is concerned, perhaps you
might think specular hematite. It is dark & shiny (like a mirror), is
dense, crystalline and a "stone." Hematite might make a good "heart"
of the pyramid since some pyramids apparently were painted with
hematite-doped paint to sparkle (unfortunately I don't remember where
I saw/heard this...) similarly to the Rosalila Pyramid at Copan and
its mica-doped paint... and hematite leaves a blood red streak when
scraped across unglazed tile or other hard substance or/and when
ground up. The material was, if I remember correctly from some
now-forgotten reference, also used along with pyrite as mirrors, thus
its connection with the elite, perhaps seeing themselves as
reflections of the Gods?
So much good speculation from so little data!
