Folks:
The obsidian "mirrors" were used, not so much to see the "wai" of the one who questions destiny, but to see the stars in the sky at the time of the question, to know what his/her future would entail.
Some of the Monkey scribes are shown using the dark mirror to the lord on a cushion throne, apparently explaining the night stars and its omens.
