The conical pyramids may have been geometric shapes with the same proportions used to build the Temples of the Cross and Sun. I’m not saying these temples were conical, I’m saying that geometric proportions found in the structures could also be found in the conical pyramids from the caches. Kinich Janab Pakal was buried with a sphere shaped stone in one hand and a square shaped stone in the other. Pakal’s known architectural achievements may also have used the geometric proportions of the two shapes found in his hands.

The heart was considered the most precious organ of our bodies by the Maya. A contemporary Maya village heart or sacred bundle contained caches of items wrapped in cloth; this is the most sacred item of the Maya village. Caches of offerings representing symbolic significance could easily contain heart shaped stones and geometric shapes with proportions found in Nature and this would be considered the Heart of the Temple. The type of stone may have been black obsidian which comes into the area through Mesoamerican trade routes from Central Mexico. Some beautiful black obsidian carvings have come out of Ancient Central Mexico.

Sorry for not including references, but your last email allowed for offhand comments and general information. Maybe you are becoming more of an “Edge Walker.” LOL
