In 1989 Marilyn Beaudry published an article in which she presented 
results of her research in the use of this specialized pigment on 
Pacific Guatemala pottery and to determine resource zones including 
highland Guatemala. It is entitled "Investigation of Interregional 
Contacts: The Distribution and Use of a Specialized Pigment." And 
appears in New Frontiers in the Archaeology of the Pacific Coast of 
Southern Mesoamerica, Frederick Bove and Lynette Heller, editors, 
Archaeological Research Papers No 39, Arizona State University.
