On Saturday, March 1, 2008, from 11 am until 5 pm, The University of Texas
at Austin will host upwards of 50,000 people in a free, campus-wide
show-and-tell called, "Explore UT." This is the same Saturday that is the
first day of the Maya Meetings weekend Symposium for 2008 (www.utmaya.org).
These talks begin at 9 am on Saturday. If you are planning to attend the
weekend Meetings, please review the campus setup, particularly parking,
food, and other services, on the Explore UT map at their web site,
(www.utexas.edu/events/exploreut/ ). Note especially that parking is free in
some lots and parking garages but certain garages will still be pay-only,
insuring that parking spaces should be available, even if space is not
available in the free lots. A special shuttle bus will circle the campus
from 9:30 am until 6 pm, and bus schedules will be temporarily changed.
Please note the lots that are NOT available for visitor parking, including
the lot nearest the LBJ library. If you have questions or concerns, please
feel free to email me offline.
