[Aztlan] E-groups and Sun Dogs

Listeros,
Having seen Sun Dogs in some frigid northeast Iowa
winters while I was growing up, the ice crystals that
reflect the Sun Dogs do not necessarily have to be
high up in the atmosphere. Prairie wind-whipped fine
dry snow crystals in the air also created the Sun
Dogs, but have to be quite far off the ground to have
the effect. Perhaps there may be instances where
wind-whipped crystalline fine dust could possibly
generate the same effect, although less spectacular?
Although intriguing, the concept of Sun Dog-inspired
E-groups seems less probable if the Sun Dogs are not
regularly generated on some sort of synodic cycle. I
would think a Wind (Aztec Ehecatl)/Solar (Aztec
Tonatiuh) interaction might be difficult to predict.
In Iowa (and in probably most other plains states)
there was a saying, "March is either in like a lamb
and out like a lion, or vice-versa," referring to
winds in the month of March starting the month calm
and ending the month blustery, or vice-versa.
I don't know where Dave Hixson's referred-to site is
located, or if he is at liberty to discuss it, but the
location might hold some clues for us.
Paul
