Let me be clear, I found the idea of "Sun Dogs"
interesting, but unlikely to be a factor at my
particular site. The more I read about them, I would
agree with Paul that these are unlikely to be
reflected in any architecture of the Maya lowlands.
The site is located in the seasonal swamps near the
gulf coast of the Yucatan peninsula. However, in the
higher elevations of Central Mexico, I could very well
see these phenomena being incorporated into some
mythology, ritual, divination, etc.
My original question was much more basic (although I'm
happy it took this VERY interesting turn towards a
phenomenon of which I was completely unaware). I was
only asking if a 98 degree reading, with a 22 degree
variance seems to be in accord with fellow listero's
understandings of accepted E-Groups.
Again, I'm very happy this group can take such
questions and end up where I never imagined it would
go. I'm very proud to be a part of such a diverse and
interesting list.
