[Aztlan] Student Thesis on Aztecs

Hi everybody!
I'm Silvio Spina, an Aztlan newcomer from Italy. I'm24, and I'm attending my last year at ISIA Urbino, a GRAPHIC DESIGN& VISUAL COMMUNICATION university. 

I'm working on athesis/project about the AZTEC CULTURE. What I am trying to do is tovisualize and explain the MULTIPLE CONNECTIONS between all the mainaspects of that culture: the dualistic vision of the universe and life,war, agriculture, religion, cosmology, the importance of the 4 cardinalpoints, vision of time, writing, dance. (I'm studying graphic design so the VISUAL REFERENCESobviously have a key role in my project).

Between the many doubts that I am encountering in myresearch, there is a big one about the interpretation of the 4 CARDINALPOINTS and the simbologies related to them (ritual colours, divinitiesconnected to each cardinal point, connections with the 4 seasons andagriculture, path of the sun in the sky, etc.).

So, my question is:

Can anybody suggest me a valuable source with a specific explanation of the manysimbologies (ritual colours, divinities connected to each cardinalpoint, connections with the 4 seasons and agriculture, path of the sunin the sky, etc.) related to the 4 cardinal points in the AZTEC CONCEPTION?
