Yes indeed.  While channel surfing the other day, I happened on a TV 
evangelist who seemed to be adopting 2012 as the END (2000 having been a 
bust, I guess. Reminds me of  a Beyond the Fringe skit in which the 
faithful gather on a mountain to witness the end, and when it doesn't 
happen, the preacher says, very matter-of-fact like, " Right then, same 
time same place tomorrow?")
