The Michael Wood book Conquistadors states that Syphilis was a New World disease brought back to Europe by the Conquistadors, what other illnesses from the New World to the Old were brought back?  Smallpox, malaria, measles and many other sexually transmitted diseases were among the bequests of the Old to the New.   Mario F. Malo
