[Aztlan] New to Old World Illness?

Mario,

I am not an expert on this one, but as far as I know, syphilis was
transmitted in both directions. One form was indigenous to the New World
and was contracted by Europeans and the other was brought from the Old
World to the New. I believe that the Old World version was much more
disasterous, but that may just be my own impression. I forget the
evidence, but perhaps others will know.

Smallpox, malaria, measles and many other sexually transmitted diseases were among the bequests of the Old to the New. Mario F. Malo
