[Aztlan] Google Earth Placemarks

I've gotten several very helpful responses off-list so far. I should mention that I got most of my data on Maya sites from Clifford Brown and Walter Witschey, who have compiled an excellent database of information on Maya settlements. For those who might not know it yet, their project website is:

Electronic Atlas of Ancient Maya Sites
http://mayagis.smv.org

The best way to reciprocate their efforts is to send them more data!

Subject: [Aztlan] Google Earth Placemarks

I'm assembling a collection of Google Earth placemarks for Mesoamerica, with locations and views of geographical features and well-known sites. I have most of the Maya sites, but am seeking additional locations in central Mexico, west Mexico, the Oaxaca Valley, and elsewhere in non-Maya Mesoamerica.

Is there a good online source for geographical coordinates of Mesoamerican sites? If you have some of these (with confirmed locations, hopefully from first-hand observations), I'd like very much to exchange and refine data.

Thanks!

John Hoopes
