Hello everybody

I read part of this book:

Ortega Gaytan, Jorge (2003);

“Los kaibiles”; Guatemala, CEDHIM

ISBN 99939-62-16-3

And it talks about the mam leader “Kaibil Balam”. He was a great warrior of
the Mam Maya kingdom and we know that he fought the spaniards and was
defeated and killed by them.

But this book talks about a different history, it says the following facts
and details:

*	Mam empire occupied part of Guatemala and Mexico (Huehuetenango,
Quetzaltenango, Totonicapán, Chiapas) called Xinabajul.
*	Quiche-King Kikab the great conquered Xinabajul y called “Zaculeu”.
*	When Kikab the great dies mam king “Acab” gets their independence
and called his son “Kaibil Balam”.
*	“Kaibil Balam” born on april 27 of 1492.
*	In 1532 Kaibil Balam becomes king and fight agains the spanish whom
surrended the kingdom, by Gonzalo de Alvarado, this fight last four months,
then Kaibil Balam doesnt dies, he went away to the mountains where he was
still fighting against spaniards and this “guerrilla” style fight last over
5 years. Kaibil Balam never get killed and never get captured.

Do you know someother source of “Kaibil Balam” history to contrast this
facts?

Regards

Atentamente,
