I didn't say it was evidence. I merely stated a number of additional 
sources of information on the subject. The information Landa obtained 
under torture or threat of torture is, of course, suspect, but he was 
initially reacting to information about the continuation of ancient 
practices. He had an inquisition to find out how wide spread it was, and 
who was responsible. He was clearly convinced that the Maya were again 
practicing human sacrifice, but he didn't make up the fact that they 
carried out this practice in the past. The various sources of 
information suggest that the Maya threw adults and children of both 
sexes into the cenotes. We may never know why particular people were 
chosen for sacrifice, but it would appear that the Maya were equal 
opportunity sacrificers.
