Erik Boot reports on two articles from the Instituto Nacional de  
Antropología e Historia. One article details the discovery of two  
Mezcala figurines in Guerrero. These figurines are rarely found.

And the other article published in the same journal gave an update on  
the 12 rubber balls dated at 3500 BCE found at El Manati, Veracruz in  
1989. The article then goes on to describe the Olmec process of  
making rubber balls at this very early date.
