[Aztlan] HOORAY! LAVA FORMATIONS..

NOW WE'RE GETTING SOMEWHERE!!  Thank you Hayley, for your valuable, expert input on the lava formations and how caves do or don't form.  I was just explaining what was told to me by the UNAM folks (at least what I thought they were telling me).  My Spanish is great, but I don't know the first thing about volcanoes and their behavior, so it wouldn't be hard for me to get confused.  At least I got the bottom line right - - that the tunnel under the Sun Pyr. is NOT natural.

This is what I love about the Aztlan forums.  We have such diverse specialists on here, as well as folks who may not actually be in related fields but are interested and often have keen insights and interesting ideas.  If we could all always do our work this way (consulting as many relevent sources as we can and then trying to confirm them more thoroughly) I know that archaeology would advance faster, farther, and be more on target more often.

It is a shame that there is sometimes so much fear of being "scooped" that investigators sometimes don't want to share their ongoing research with others.  That often causes things to get into print in a way that would have otherwise been well-enhanced by further input from knowledgeable folks.

Once again, thanks Hayley.........and for that matter, thanks to EVERYBODY who participates on Aztlan.  The world of knowledge and ideas are just that much better thanks to all of you!
