Four years ago I led a group of students on a one-week trek to Nakbe and El Mirador (we departed from Uaxactun). I'd be happy to discuss the trip if anyone is interested...it was absolutely remarkable.

The reference I posted earlier from the Waterbury Observer (2006) is an interview & story about Richard Hansen, and the trek to get to El Mirador, and the realities of being 'on the ground' there. Pictures of the Hansen family, and the plane they crashed in, quite amazing.
