Can someone direct me to any published or non published articles or
references discussing:
1. The geological Caribbean Island chain taking an idealized shape of a
curved Snake. With Aruba the tail tip circling West to East around to
Dominican Republic as the Head, and Haiti as the open Mouth. Linking the
Mesoamerican open mouthed snake carvings/statues/paintings to be symbolic of
this chain of islands.
For some time now I have been using a simple method to easily remember
Mesoamerican archaeological and natural terrain locations. By using a simple
picture of a Chac Mool statue layered over a Google Earth Map of the
Yucatan, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua and Costa Rica areas.
The natural terrain formation lends itself willingly to certain Chac Mool
statue poses. The Yucatan fits well for the head, the Caribbean Sea side of
Honduras and Nicaragua as the curve of the knee caps, following down to
approximately around Costa Rica/Panama for the feet, making it easier for me
to visualize the locations of the natural terrain, e.g. volcanoes,
mountains, lakes, rivers, tectonic plates and mineral deposits and their
locations to archaeological sites.
The more I read and learn of the different cultures, time lines,
agriculture, temples and minerals of the land masses and waters South of New
Orleans, and frequently referencing the Google Earth Maps. I cannot help but
readily see my idealized geological Chac Mool 3D Map with the Caribbean Sea
islands taking the shape of an open mouth Snake circling in from the West.
Although I have not read much about the trade travels with water crafts of
the ancient Mesoamericans, I cannot delete the possibility of these people
charting and drawing geological maps of the Caribbean Sea islands and
Continental Coast lines along these routes, especially since they are well
noted for their intellectually proficiency for charting and drawing the
heavens. Why not the same for land and water?
Plus the stories I'm reading about the different deities of wind, rain and
storms associated with snakes, and personally familiar with the Hurricanes
that form in the Caribbean Sea just adds to my speculations.
If your minds eye cannot readily see what I am trying to explain, I have no
problems with this in your replies. I have laughed at myself many times for
the different fun tools I use to remember things, and the mass searching and
reading adventures of following up on a "What if" idea. I would just like to
locate a published or non published writing from someone who has mentioned
anything about these geological formations likening themselves to so many
pictures and carvings of ancient Mesoamerican stuff.
Note: These entire trains of thoughts are based solely upon my personal
observations and opinions of Mesoamerican Symbolic 3D Geological Mappings
and have no reference sources, pro or con. As for the Chac Mool statues and
their head, torso and knee directions, I consider to be relative to the
parent observer's location; ditto for 3D Snake Heads and Tails, e.g. Chichen
Itza Warrior Temple.
