Yes, that last PARI issue is really a lot of fun to read! Makes one wish to
delve further...
I have not found Aubin's "Memoires" online, but have found the next-best
thing:
In 1891, Boban had published "Documents pour servir a L'histoire du
Mexique"--about the Goupil, previously the Aubin, collection. The Boban
"documents" came in 2 volumes (and an "Atlas", which, unfortunately, I haven't
been able to find). The second volume has a lot of notes on the Vergara
Codex--including what Aubin wrote. These start on p 16 of volume 2.
To get this write-up, one can go to the bnf (http://gallica.bnf.fr),
'recherche'-ing for "Boban" on the "Auteur" line, and 'telecharger'-ing it to
your computer.
If anyone knows where to find Aubin's his "Memoires" online, or the
above-mentioned "atlas" online, or any other such gems, I'd be very happy to
hear from you!
