Listeros,

In the new summer issue of American Archaeology Magazine which is not
posted online, there is a story about the Paisley Cave coprolites
with the first serious critique of the claims made by Archaeologist
Gary Haynes who can always be depended upon to hold unusual claims to
exacting proofs.

He says that since the coprolites are mixed between dog and human,
some of the coprolites in question may not be human. He also states
that the radio-carbon dates could be in error due to carbon reservoir
effects where old carbon recirculates through the food chain
resulting in dates that may be thousands of years too old.

He suggests that all DNA extracted from the coprolites be dated
separately to see if they are contemporaneous with each other and
that the hairs found are indisputably human and are in the coprolites
and not sticking to the surface.
