[Aztlan] Trip to Mexico (Chiapas)

I just realized that I forgot to mention the wonderful day-trip you could take to both Bonampak and Yaxchilan.  These trips used to take multiple days, but with the newly paved roads they both can be seen in a single (long) day from a home base in Palenque.

Bonampak is reached by van, then you are driven to a launch site for river boats to travel up to Yaxchilan along the Usumacinta river.  Most tour packages include a mediocre lunch and other refreshments, but be sure to bring some trail mix and extra water just in case of some delays.
