Good advice. Definitely, Agua Azul is Agua Cafe during the rainy season -
and very powerful and dangerous, certainly for swimming. It is impressive
at either time. Misol Ha is the same in the rainy season, wildly
out-of-control and frightening.
Parque La Venta and the Carlos Pellicar Museum, yes! Try to include
Villahermosa for those two important places.
The rainy season versus the dry season is central to understanding Mexico.
Either you go twice, or you stay until the seasons change. Look at the
stark contrast between Teotihuacan in September
http://www.dallas.net/~lalo/teotihua.html contrasted with Teotihuacan in
March http://www.dallas.net/~lalo/masteo3.html . If you go to Parque La
Venta in October, as I did , you will find people selling mosquito repellant
at the entrance. Buy it, and be prepared to slip around in red mud. What
you see will be more than worth the effort!
