Subject: [Texascavers] new AMCS books
The Association for Mexican Cave Studies, a Project of the NSS, has
two new AMCS reprints.
Reprint 8 is "The Cenotes of Yucatan," by A. S. Pearse, et al.,
originally published by the Carnegie Institution of Washington in
1936. 304 pages plus photo plates, 8.5 x 11 inches, softbound. $20.
Reprint 9 is "Fauna of the Caves of Yucatan," edited by A. S. Pearse,
originally published by the Carnegie Institution of Washington in
1938. 304 pages plus photo plates, 8.5 x 11 inches, softbound. $20.
(Yes, it is correct that the page count happens to be the same.)
Important early works on Mexican cave biology. Originals of these will
cost you $60 to $150 on the Internet; someone else offers print-on-
demand reprints for $110. Ordering info and further details, including
tables of contents, can be found at www.amcs-pubs.org. I'll have a few
copies at the UT Grotto meeting tomorrow night. -- Bill Mixon, AMCS
editor
