Do any listeros remember who was present
(probably in 1984) when Kathryn and Linda presented portions
of the Acalan Chontal Paxbolon Maldonado papers?
They showed how similar these alphabetically recorded texts were
to some glyphic texts, in the way they presented a sequence of rulers.

I remember we were in Austin, sitting in one of the halls
upstairs from the Latin Amerian Library, with a blackboard.
I'm fairly sure it was the one of the two parallel halls which was
farther from the stadium, closer to the parking lots and the Interstate.
I don't know whether there were 8 people or 15,
but probably somewhere in that range.

I'd like to use this information in a paper I'm about to present at the
AAA meetings in San Francisco,
in part to highlight Kathryn's contributions to discourse analysis.

Nick Hopkins thinks the year was probably 1984.

Best wishes,
Lloyd
