Dear Listeros,

As many of you know, my dissertation project is about the use of
GIScience to document the archaeological history of Lakamha'
(Palenque, Mexico). While surfing through Google Books using the key
term "Palenque", I came across an article published in 1859 that was
scanned from a document called "Historical Magazine". It describes
three unprovenanced artifacts that may or may not have come from
Palenque. In case you are interested in reading the article, I have
posted it at http://gispalenque.blogspot.com/. Do the descriptions of
any of these objects sound familiar to anyone, particularly the mask
(inscribed on the concave side) and the large carved jade? The
descriptions are sketchy, but is it possible that the owner of the
objects was incorrect about which site from which they came? Any
assistance would be appreciated.

Elaine
