Listeros:
I would greatly appreciate help in regard to any or all of the following questions. I often get inquiries from my students regarding 2012 and I would obviously like to provide them with the most reliable answers available.

1. Are there any known hieroglyphic texts that make reference to the date apart from Monument 6 at Tortuguero?
2. Are there numbers other than 13 or 20 in Long Count dates referring to a unit higher than the pik (b'ak'tun)? Anyone know approximately how many references there are to 13? to 20?
3. Approx. how many, if any, references are there to winter solstice dates apart from the Tortuguero text?
4. Did the ancient Maya use winik or winak for the Long Count unit more commonly referred to as the winal?

These are probably silly questions for the majority of you, so you may wish to respond directly to me rather than bother the whole group.

Thanks in advance,
bob
