Recently FAMSI has posted our collection of audio material in mp3 format on their website. This collection consists of songs, stories, H-Men chants and a pronunciation guide which is a companion piece to our grammar, also posted on the FAMSI website.

For the pronunciation guide go to:

http://www.famsi.org/research/bolles/grammar/index.html

For the other material go to:

Each selection is paired with its corresponding transcription.

As noted in the introductory remarks to the anthology section of the grammar, for those stories and songs used in the grammar there was almost always a certain amount of editing when writing out the transcription of this material, for reasons mentioned in the introductory remarks to this material. However, for the chants every effort was made to transcribe the chants as they given in the audio material.

I would like to thank Sandy Mielke and FAMSI for posting this material. I hope it provides a useful tool for those studying the Mayan language.

Best, David
