A good anthology published in 1987 is _Ixok Amar Go -- Central
American Women's Poetry for Peace_, edited by Zoe Anglesey, Granite
Press. It includes poems by Guatemalan poets Loxa Jimenez Lopez, Maria
Perez Tzu, and Caly Domitila Cane'k, in contemporary Mayan with
Spanish and English translations.

Much of the _Popol Vuh_ seems to be poetry. Without glyphic
"spellings" for the stories, we presumably no longer have all the
visual linguistic play of the original poetic form. But we often can
hear rhythm and meter in the stories as preserved --in the classic
trope of repeated and paired lines, for example.
