Buenos Dias, Listeros -

The public broadcasting service in the United States is showing a television special this week on comet fragment impacts that likely ended Clovis:

Some additional related news items which you may find of interest are:

1) Ken Tankersley has found a 1 inch thick layer of impactites near Sandusky, Ohio along with the remains of blast killed mega-fuana and clovis tools:

2) A possible Holocene Start Impact structure has been located in Alberta:

3) Work is being done investigating whether the Carolina Bays are secondary impact structures:

Shawnee tradition held that there were a series of impacts: south, east, north, west and then three more fragments hit somewhere to the north of their location at the time at Big Bone Lick on the Ohio River. But at that distance in time, perhaps religious significance had replaced detail.

4) Note the strata at this site in Venezuela:

In my opinion, these impacts may go a long way towards explaining the prominent role given to comets in meso-american creation traditions.
