Dear Paul

Ollin is the constant union of the four directions into a center. This center is where the four directions (horizontal cut) meet the 13 heavens and 9 infraworlds (Vertical cut). It is related to the Ball Court and the movement of the ball, the sun.

We can safely say the the Ollin simbolizes the human body and the life inside it, but a deep knowledge
of Mesoamericna cosmovision is needed to undestand this. It is related to the term "Yoli" alive.

Here you can see one of the oldest images of an Ollin, from san Jose Mogote, dated 970bc
but the place has ocupancy since 1800bc and buldings since 1200bc.

The body of this antropomorf resambles the Olin, we can see this in Post Clasicc codex
as a simbolic resource. Codex Borgia Plate 40
 http://www.famsi.org/spanish/research/graz/borgia/img_page40.html
here we can see the Lord of Time, as we can see the complete structure of the Shiwitl,
the Nahua Year cicles, inside a Sipaktli.

Olln is related to Nanahuatzin the hero of the Leyend of the sun, that why he has the hands
and legs twisted.

Ollin actually simbolizes the escence of this reality, the union of water, earth, air, fire and eter.
It`s not just a concept is a cientific description exposed in a very elegant way.

Hope this can help.

Have agood day.

Pedro
