Saturday I was giving a workshop on the Maya calendar. I needed a random
date so I asked the students (Math teachers all) for a birthday. July 19,
1984 was the resopnse. I plugged it into my program, which at the time was
using correlation 584,285, and it up with:
                                                        12.18.11.2.16
7-Kib 19-Sek

After a few minutes of discusion birthday giver asked, "Was it a
coincidence?" (Mind you, the atmosphere was extremely relaxed)
"Was what a coincidence?", I replied.
"The fact that my birthday appeared in the answer"
"I don't understand"
I was born 7/19 and the Calendar Round is *7*-Kib *19*-Sek
I smiled and said, "It's not a coincidence, it always works that way!"
At that instant, another student said, "*Don't believe him! He's kidding
you.!*"

I said, "YES, I was kidding." It was then that the second student continued
and said, "That leads to a very interesting problem, what are the chances
that a random birthdate will have the same type of result?"

In all my experience with the calendar, I have never seen anything like
this. I post this only to share the moment and solicit off-line
contributions on answering the probability question.
