Aveni commented on the one found on Cerro Gordo which marked the  
setting of the Pleiades star cluster which took place on May 18  
presaging the beginning of spring. Aveni found that this was aligned  
with pecked cross circles in the center of Teotihuacan.

Since Aveni made his observations, many more of these pecked cross  
circles have been found and any orientation pattern awaits further  
research.

Perhaps listero John Carlson, an expert in the field of archaeo- 
astronomy, can enlighten us further on pecked cross circles.
