Hola, Listeros!
I'm writing about Louis Ayme, who explored Yucatan in the early 1880s. In 1881, Ayme supposedly discovered at Kabah "a rude painting of 'a man mounted on horseback,'" according to the writer Frederick Ober. Charnay later "confirmed" the find, writing, "Traces of painting, of which tracings were made, are still visible in
the central chamber. It was here that I thought I recognised the rude
drawing of a horse and his rider, which was hailed with Homeric
laughter."
The building where these painting traces were found was the Palace, to the northeast of Codz Poop. Has anyone seen these painting traces, and have any idea what they really represented? Thanks in advance.
Saludos!
