University of Texas Press recently started shipping the book

_Veiled Brightness. A History of Ancient Maya Color_
by Stephen Houston, Claudia Brittenham, Cassandra Mesick, 
Alexandre Tokovinine, and Christina Warinner

The book includes a survey of Mayan color names,
of materials and techniques to make color,
and the contexts in which colors are used,
including which colors were used in different time perioeds
from Pre-Classic to Post-Classic,   There is of course some
discussion of the rise of Maya Blue.
