[Aztlan] MA: Stones found in bones, cadavers/ Lowland Yucatec Maya

I have in the back of my mind a recollection of a family in my study community who had disinterred a relative's bones for re-burial (in a box in the beams of a palapa in the cemetery).

They had found something among the bones of the chest. I seem to recall it was a stone or obsidian flake? They thought it was evidence of witchcraft (hechizo). 

Does this ring any bells?
