I'm surprised that, so far, no one has speculated on a connection between the 
obsidian flakes and smoking mirrors.

Those adorning the remains of the once living for the proper observer to 
evaluate their well-being in their after-life not unlike their well-being 
would have been evaluated during their life.

Somewhat likewise for those flakes adorning Gods. To evaluate their 
well-being, their satisfaction with those they god, wherever they might be.

Certainly worth some reflection. No?
