MODERATOR'S NOTE:

We moderators here at Aztlan have found the recent discussion regarding ethnicity / race / perspectivism both interesting and productive.  However, we'd like to keep this topic focused, and not detour too far into the debate about using the term "Indian" vs. "Native American".  This is not because we don't value such a discussion, but only because we recently discussed this topic at length on Aztlan.  As moderators, it is our burden to keep discussions moving forward.
