For those of you traveling to Austin, Texas, from Mexico, please note that
there is a new carrier which carries passengers from various parts of Mexico
directly to Austin without going through intermediary stops like Atlanta or
Houston. There are three hubs in Mexico: Puerto Vallarta, Monterrey, and
Cancun. Buses run from outlying towns to these three hubs and flights run
twice per week from these hubs. Luggage is limited on these flights but
travel is faster than by large airline carrier and customs is faster and
easier than at the large airports. Buses also travel from Austin to San
Antonio and Houston.

Currently, Viva Aerobus is having a Valentine's Day special. Not only is the
regular price $49 each way from one of these hub cities by air to Austin's
south terminal, but the special allows two people to travel for the price of
one during this special. Tickets must be purchased on or before January 21
for travel from February 3 through March 31.
