This is very useful information. I've always wondered about it, although 
I have echoed the generally accepted view in my own work. When I first 
got to Cancun, a writer named Don Gadsby who then published a local 
guide told me that the official history grossly exaggerates the number 
of sacrifices. I did not allow this to dissuade me from my own 
prejudices about the Aztecs.
