The word láak is from Yucatec Maya. It means
other, another, sibling, companion. If you
wanted to say, Give me another slice of pizza
with anchovies and onions, youd use the
word. If you wanted to ask about someones
siblings or relatives, youd use the word. In
itself the word is not loaded with a lot of
emotive connotations, but I suppose if you used
it to call someone your kinsman, someone who
wasnt your kinsman, it could grab attention,
