I may only be displaying my ignorance, and maybe I've mis-understood some
of this dialog, but though I feel the grammar has been explained, I don't
really like the fact that some of us may be throwing out "other" in the
gloss.  For one thing, I feel "other" and "companion" can, in some
languages, be sometimes considered as synonyms.  For another, using
Bolles' online dictionary, both "other" and "companion" are given as
glosses.  Please keep in mind that Bolles' "k" is the same as what we've
been spelling as "k'" herein (i.e., it is glottalized--he uses a "c" for
the unglottalized k-sound).:

Please excuse me if I did not include anyone else's dictionary that would 
have been just as useful for this. And please excuse me for any errors I 
may have made.

Also, I respelled Bolles' " ch[and the h with a crossed vertical bar in 
it]" as chh, since my text-based e-mail doesn't have the "ch[bar]" in its 
repetoire.
