I'm sure Robert Hall would agree. He noted the conjunction cycles of Jupiter and Saturn and suggested many years ago that it might have served as a basis for the katun period in the Long Count. Susan Milbrath also discussed this in her book Star Gods of the Maya. The 3 katun cycle of Venus phenomena has also been noted.
