I think you (Star Heart) are trying to rig the election! Soliciting only
people that agree with your 'candidate'/position will get a win for your
candidate but not a fair one! (unless no one votes). Since John Major
Jenkins has come to your rescue I must vote otherwise to at least keep the
'election straight.'
Since you asked for patterns...I searched.
- I found that the long counts listed increment by an inconsistent number
(although close to 7200) Perhaps because they recorded dates approximately
7200 days apart.
- Found (after looking at your first 4 entries) That neither of these
conversions used a common correlation (ie. 584,285/285)
I dare say that if you make an Excel spread sheet with the first column
being Julian day numbers of known conjunctions, the second column Long
Counts and the next 8 columns any other calendar system you will see that
the distance between the dates in EVERY column will be the same. Would that
be an indication that every calendar system in the chart was based on that
conjunction? Or would it perhaps mean that the folks used the calendar to
record conjunctions?
Mr. Jenkins, it is ok to note that folks have noticed that said conjunctions
are close to 7200 (even if they are 50 some days apart) but that does not
mean the calendar was designed that way. That's what calendars do! They
record dates. I, again, find it difficult to imagine the meeting that took
place a long time ago (The meeting was the initial "Long Count Design
Specification" conference. A scribe gets up and says, "I'll vote for
having a max of 18 Uinals but you have to vote for a Katun of 7200 because
it's close to my favorite conjunction!" I don't vote for that!
