[Aztlan] Breaking the Maya Code screening and workshop

Dear Listeros,

The two-hour film Breaking the Maya Code will screen August 1 at 4PM  
at the Chabot Space and Science Center in Oakland, California,  
followed by a Q&A with the film makers and then at at 7:30 PM by a  
two-hour introductory Maya Glyph Workshop conducted by the film  
makers.  Both events are, I believe, free.  Please pass the word to  
friends in the Bay area who might be interested.

The workshop is an interactive audio-visual experience based on  
materials prepared for the film.  If there are one or two Bay-area  
Mayanists out there who would like to volunteer to assist us with the  
workshop, please get in touch with us off-list.  At past workshops  
(which have been hugely popular and always over-booked) we have been  
variously assisted by Barbara and Dennis Tedlock, Bruce Love and Mark  
Van Stone.
