[Aztlan] Big Pyramids of Theotiuacan and Tenochtitlan booth 7 times build?

Hello,

I  got this information out of 2 different TV shows..
That on booth locations the big pyramid was build 7 times on top of  
the previous structure.

Because i dont trust TV features regarding mesoamerican history so  
much i would like to ask if this is a true information and if this  
interesting coincident has been discused allready somewhere? And if  
so, is it only seen as coincident or are there other theories about  
the item?

And in conjunction to this the question,

Is there a special concept/symbolism or mythologie known regarding the  
number 7 in the nativ american cultures ?
